The Resourceful Bride
I was talking to a bride about her reception at Eagle Landing Golf Club. She shared that there were going to be a significant number of guests with children in attendance. The bride and groom had an innovative idea to serve both an adult and children's menu in hopes that there will be less wasted food. I loved the idea and began to think more about their concern. I did some research and found three local shelters that gladly accept food left over from events and wedding receptions. Clara White Mission 904.354.4162, City Rescue Mission 904.387.4357 and Salvation Army 904.356.8641. I spoke to the director of each to confirm and they reassured it's as easy as dropping it off during their hours of operation, no paperwork or liability concerns. If you are looking for eco-friendly wedding alternatives, this may be a great option for your receptions un-served left overs.
